Pivikto 200 mg Tablet contains alpelisib, an anticancer medication classified as a PI3K (phosphatidylinositol-3-kinase) inhibitor. It is prescribed in combination with other anticancer medicines to treat a specific type of breast cancer that has spread to nearby tissues or other parts of the body (advanced or metastatic breast cancer). It is intended for postmenopausal women and for men whose cancer has progressed during or after previous treatments.

In addition, Pivikto 200 mg is used in certain patients with PIK3CA-related overgrowth spectrum (PROS), a genetic condition that leads to abnormal tissue growth and overdevelopment in various parts of the body.

Do not take this medication if you are allergic to alpelisib or any of the other ingredients in the tablet. Before starting treatment, inform your doctor if you have high blood sugar levels or diabetes, bone disorders, or symptoms such as severe skin rash, blistering of the lips, eyes, or mouth, peeling skin, fever, or widespread redness.

Seek immediate medical attention if you experience signs of a serious allergic reaction, including rash, itching, hives, difficulty breathing, wheezing, persistent cough, low blood pressure, or bluish discoloration of the lips, tongue, or skin.

Pivikto 200mg is a kinase inhibitor of phosphatidylinositol-3-kinase (PI3K) with inhibitory activity predominantly against PI3K-alpha. In breast cancer cell cells, PI3K inhibition by this medicine induces an increase in estrogen receptor transcription. These enzymes help cancer cells to grow and multiply. By blocking their action, it can reduce cancer growth and spread and help destroy cancer cells.
