Ropivacaine is a long-acting amide local anaesthetic with selectivity for sensory over motor block. It blocks sodium channels in peripheral nerves and has reduced CNS and cardiovascular toxicity compared to bupivacaine due to lower lipid solubility.

Interaction of Trustrop 0.2% Injection 20ml with other drugs

Additive toxicity with other amide local anaesthetics. Fluvoxamine inhibits ropivacaine metabolism increasing plasma levels. Enhanced hypotension with antihypertensives.
