Temodal 250mg Capsule contains the active ingredient temozolomide and is classified as an antitumor medication. It is used to treat brain cancers such as glioblastoma multiforme in adults and malignant gliomas, including glioblastoma multiforme or anaplastic astrocytoma, in patients over three years old. These cancers are among the most aggressive brain tumors and have a low survival rate.

Treatment details:

Anaplastic astrocytoma: Typically treated with Temodal 250mg Capsule or radiotherapy following a biopsy.

Glioblastoma multiforme: Managed with a combination of radiotherapy and Temodal 250mg Capsule, followed by maintenance therapy with the medication.

Possible side effects:
Common side effects may include nausea, vomiting, dizziness, diarrhea, constipation, hair loss, skin rashes, fatigue, frequent urination, vision or hearing changes, elevated blood sugar, muscle damage, muscle and joint pain, memory difficulties, coordination problems, infections, sleep disturbances, and weight loss. Contact your doctor if any of these symptoms persist or cause significant discomfort.

Precautions:

Do not use Temodal 250mg Capsule if you are allergic to it or any of its ingredients.

Inform your doctor if you have hepatitis B, anemia, low platelet or red/white blood cell counts, blood clotting disorders, or liver or kidney problems.

Your physician will regularly monitor your white blood cell and platelet counts during treatment.

Avoid use if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Both men and women should use effective contraception to prevent pregnancy or fathering a child while taking this medication.
