Sevoflurane is a fluorinated methyl isopropyl ether volatile anaesthetic that potentiates GABA-A activity and inhibits NMDA receptors. It has low blood-gas solubility (0.69) allowing rapid induction and emergence, making it ideal for paediatric and day-surgery anaesthesia.

Interaction of Sevfurane 50ml Liquid with other drugs

Potentiates all neuromuscular blockers. QT-prolonging drugs increase arrhythmia risk. Beta-blockers enhance myocardial depression. Epinephrine-induced arrhythmias less common than with halothane.

Inhaled via calibrated sevoflurane vaporiser in OT. Induction: 0.5-8% with oxygen. Maintenance: 0.5-3%. Titrated by anaesthesiologist to surgical requirement.
