Propofol is an IV general anaesthetic agent that acts as a positive allosteric modulator at GABA-A receptors, enhancing inhibitory neurotransmission. It provides rapid onset (30-60 seconds), smooth induction, and rapid emergence with minimal hangover.

Interaction of Neorof Injection 20ml with other drugs

Additive CNS depression with opioids, benzodiazepines, and volatile anaesthetics — reduce doses accordingly. Fentanyl combination may cause apnoea. Rifampicin increases propofol metabolism.

How to consume Neorof Injection 20ml

IV injection or infusion only — administered and titrated by anaesthesiologist. Induction: 1.5-2.5mg/kg IV. Maintenance: 4-12mg/kg/hr infusion.
