Myo-Pyrolate Injection is a combination reversal agent used at the end of surgery to antagonize non-depolarizing neuromuscular blockade. Neostigmine reverses the block while Glycopyrrolate prevents the muscarinic side effects of neostigmine. Available at ₹104 (MRP ₹127.5).

Therapeutic Effects of Myo-Pyrolate Injection

Neostigmine Methylsulphate inhibits acetylcholinesterase, increasing acetylcholine at the neuromuscular junction to competitively displace non-depolarizing blockers. Glycopyrrolate is combined to counteract the muscarinic side effects (bradycardia, secretions) of neostigmine.

Interaction of Myo-Pyrolate Injection with other drugs

Effectiveness reduced if administered before adequate spontaneous recovery. Aminoglycosides may delay reversal. Volatile anaesthetics reduce efficacy of reversal.

How to consume Myo-Pyrolate Injection

IV administration by anaesthesiologist at end of surgery. Standard dose: Neostigmine 2.5mg + Glycopyrrolate 0.5mg IV, given slowly with monitoring.
