Dasamyl 100 mg tablet contains the active ingredient dasatinib. It is prescribed for adults and children over one year old who have Chronic Myeloid Leukemia (CML). This medication is used to treat newly diagnosed Philadelphia chromosome–positive (Ph+) CML in the chronic phase, as well as Ph+ Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) in patients who have not responded to other treatments.

Chronic Myeloid Leukemia is a type of blood cancer in which the body produces an excessive number of white blood cells due to a genetic abnormality known as the Philadelphia chromosome. Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia, the most common type of blood cancer in children, occurs when immature white blood cells (lymphocytes) grow and survive longer than they should.

Common side effects of Dasamyl 100 mg may include diarrhea, headache, cough, rash, nausea, fatigue, vomiting, muscle pain, weakness, decreased appetite, and changes in blood pressure (either high or low). If any of these side effects persist or become bothersome, consult your doctor.

Do not take this medication if you are allergic to dasatinib or any of its components. Before starting treatment, inform your doctor if you have liver or heart disease, breathing problems, chest pain, persistent cough, a history of hepatitis B infection, or any bleeding disorders. Dasamyl may significantly lower the levels of platelets, white blood cells, or red blood cells, so regular blood tests are necessary to monitor your condition.
